Railway bridges 7.7 & 7.8 at Lyngby station, Light Rail On Ring 3, 2021

Client: Bane Denmark


The railway bridges 7.7 & 7.8 at Lyngby station in Zealand Denmark are a part of Ring 3 Light Rail

System. The Ring 3 is the biggest light rail project in Denmark, as well as in all the five Nordic

 countries. Construction is scheduled to begin in 2016 and services will open to public by 2021.

 

The bridges 7.7 and 7.8 will become a two overpasses of railway above the Light Rail on Ring 3

(bury). The concrete deck of bridge 7.7 has been designed inclining to meet the need of 4.500m

free height above the new Light Rail in a complicated terrain situation.

 

The secant piles are shown at every two, which will become a wall at the end with the non-

reinforced columns in between. The secant wall are designed for special horizontal pressures from

the earth, water and the trains load on the neighbour arch bridge.

 

Concrete and reinforcement are verified in SLS, ULS, FLS and ALS load combinations after Eurocode

and BaneDanmark BN1-59-4.

Railway bridge over Kalbyrisvej

The replacement Railway Bridge over Kalbyrisvej in Zealand Denmark has been verified according

to static and dynamic natural frequency cf. Design Basis and Eurocode.

 

The bearings, concrete and reinforcements are designed for SLS, ULS, and FLS combinations of

loads incl. LM71 for railway. The main reinforcement is 16/200, supplementary reinforcements

are 16, and 20/200 (no 25 and 32 needed). IBDAS Tool
